Are you ready to step into your shining?

If you are reading this, you are 75% already engaged in what can and will be the most profound and transformational courses of your life. All you need is the remaining 25%. So let me try to template the why: Lynda Caesara, not really googleble, is a powerful and effective teacher calling upon lineages of health, fitness, anatomy, spirituality, and energy structures. She teaches in Berkeley, Ca and has a few openings for her year-long classes that meet once a month, starting this September, 2016.

She has given me permission to give you her number to find out what it’s all about. Just send me a text 415.573.4188 or email, annikakahn@gmail.com and I will get you her number.

“The Human Energy System is the sum of all energy structures in the Human Energy Field. Each of these energy structures has a certain form (anatomy) and function (physiology). We can learn to use these structures on individual and synergistic levels to enhance our awareness, health, and overall well-being” -Mark Rich

But don’t take my word for it! Check out  books like Barbara Brennan’s, Hands of Light, or Energy Anatomy, or Eastern Body, Western Mind, or Kessler’s, The 5 Personality Patterns, and see if you resonate with any of them. Or, have you ever felt like you haven’t quite reached your potential, or keep experiencing similar patterns in relationships or work and aren’t quite sure where the freeze is or why these patterns re-appear, if you have been told you move too slow, or seem out of you body, or too aggressive, and collapse under pressure, or are too harsh with words, any or all of these things point to patterns that you will learn to first, identify, and then unwind, not in lecture but in living in the experience and field of the pattern and then shifting. And guess what? The best news is no one is their pattern and everyone has a light side to each pattern.

I personally have been through 12 years and now looping back into year one again to re-learn. For those of you who have experienced Jungshin and the felt sense you get during and after, you have a field for the light side of one of my patterns and of how to quickly come into your body while experiencing a sexy relaxing feeling at the same time.

If Dr.Suess  were alive he might say, ‘you cannot get this in a lecture, you cannot get this from conjecture, not on a boat, not with a rootbeerfloat, not in a book, not from a cook. No, you cannot get this anywhere except within, it’s just right there, a little win, and with a little guidance and safety from a person who widens the knowledge and holds impeccable space, that little light in your will not only shine but will stay light forever. I dropped the rhyme, it was just time.

Jungshin will send you your very own #warriorpack once you sign up!

 Don’t be shy.

Let’s enter the 22nd century in style.

I look for the truth in you

I posted this photo of my body not because I am looking for attention (I get that easily walking down the street with a sword), but because I believe that the physical body is a representation of the mind. If you have the patience to read through the concepts along the path below you will come to the “why” of the photo.

Concepts such as perseverance, focus, mindfulness, peak-performance, and serenity…these all work under a calm and clear mind. But as any stressor on the body has a big effect on one’s balance, gravity, sense of self, load, and ability to engage with physical surroundings (I.E. a baby starts to discover the “need”, first in a thought form, to “walk” and quickly goes through a solitary football practice where fall upon fall upon head to floor, upon bruises, upon face to wall, natural stressors help push the young being into an even greater need to walk. Baby projected translation; “Ok, this middle ground thing hurts, I either need to stay on all fours or I need to figure out balance, fast.”) so too is any stressor on the mind, having similar physical effects. (Molecules of Emotion, Energy Medicine, The Great Human Diasporas).

After my mom passed away after proteins took over her brain (an organ I reference frequently in Jungshin) and made it impossible for her to understand life at all, on any terms, I experienced a stressor so powerful that it changed the shape of my body. I want to share this because the experience of loss is a serious stressor and when we as professionals work with our clients particularly on weight loss I believe it serves us to take in the entire story, as weight gain may indeed be the kindest form of therapy at a given point in time. If we take the weight away before the individual is ready, we can have the reverse effect long term resulting in more weight gain and many more problems. [1]

As in anyone who has experienced loss and with deep respect to you reader, we take it in differently and this is my experience; first the feeling of, ‘I’m out of control’, watching mom’s body and brain deteriorate over 3 years. Then, the death part, ‘Is she really dead?’ and the complete disconnection with life and death for a few months, then the grief, ‘ my body cannot tolerate this emotion-(energy in motion)-it is too small, I am too weak.’ Then the weight gain not planned of course, but the necessary way my body coped with the stressor of the loss of a loved one. I don’t remember eating more or drinking more or anything actually but here is what I am now understanding after 8 months post losing mom and allowing the grief to turn into gratitude; A thought of “she’s gone and I need her back” caused more pain in my heart than the strong muscle/organ could process so the body of course thought, ‘I’m dying too’, and began to eat and put on weight to protect the most vulnerable part of the body, the gut. For months I had no interest in training hard nor did I care about getting in shape at all. I just cared about getting the basics done; feed kid, work, earn, be kind, get sleep. Then something miraculous happened! All the work I had been doing on visioning and goals and actions started to take hold of me. The right people started to show up in my life again, I started to accept mom’s body was gone and thank god for her because no one should suffer through any brain disease or any disease ever, and slowly my mind became clear once again, through the tools I use (the work of Byron Katie, the Hoffman Process, support systems, sharing with friends) and I discover my body naturally wants to work out again. It’s truly amazing to watch a clear mind create a healthier body. I knew for Jungshin I needed to be in better shape but nothing except going Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 8.22.28 PM (1)inwards and allowing the body to hold the emotion worked. The next time someone comes to you and wants to lose weight please just make sure their heart is ready to feel whatever it may be holding in under the weight.

Love, Annika

[1] Please watch the movie, Concussion for a tribute to the brain and what happens when we “hit” our heads. Yes, it is true that repetitive stressors to the skull and head cause similar proteins as found in Lewy Body or Alzheimer’s, to build up in the brain often giving pro-athletes similar dispositions as those of dementia patients. Pro-athletes, that is, with head injuries.

Directional Momentum Training with Jungshin Fitness

What is Jungshin Fitness and why a sword? Jungshin Fitness literally mean “focused mind”. We all are aware of the neurological and physical benefits of mindful meditation and what we decided to create in Jungshin Fitness is an-easy-to follow system of movement patterns that provide quick physical and mental benefits over short periods of time which we call, MOVING MEDITATION. These benefits will be shared with you at our sessions.
What set’s Jungshin apart from other forms of movement that require mindfulness (like yoga, or swimming, or any competative athletic sport) is this: Jungshin is Directional Momentum Training (DMT). We have chosen swords as our momentum tool due to the accurate and aerodynamic construction of the sword itself-making it easier for the body to move gracefully with this extended lever. Our DMT training model offers precise stimulation to the organs, a physiological benefit created relative to the direction and  momentum of the body in relationship to each strike, stance, and block.
All movements are centered around the health and mobility of the spine. We create active and directional spines which we understand aid in the overall health of our cranial/sacral connection as we lengthen through the thoracic area, lifting and creating space  for the lungs to breath properly and the heart to do its job with ease. The explosive DMT movements we engage in our #Combat and #Athletic flow classes coupled with the breathing techniques make for what we call the physiological reset. In Jungshin Fitness we have put this all together in a format where play and warrior moves are your path in to radical transformative results.
Let the Sword Speak!

The Jungshin Fitness Team. 12755157_10153813738230977_1936779932_o

2015 in review

When people all over the planet concentrate positive thinking around letting go of the past and visioning the NEW YEAR it is very similar to the juicy KI energy we kick up in Jungshin Fitness; that heightened state of electromagnetic pulses through the cells that create a sense of, “I AM ALIVE!”.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 630 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 11 trips to carry that many people.

Death be not Proud

I am blown away and so grateful for all the support that you have been sending our way..amazing friends stepping up and taking over big Jungshin tasks for me and teaching and really just being there as friends. After I am through what feels like a fight that never stops (and I used to fight competitively so I know after a 3-minute round the body is already taxed),  I am looking forward to being able to relate the experience of body alive, body dead, mind dead, spirit alive experience I have been watching through the veil of this illusion called life. I’m sure that makes little sense which is why I am not ready, yet. The best healing today after visiting mom was laughing with my son who thought my hair made me look like a bird. He shows his affection by throwing his heavy head (I did not think heads could be so heavy!  It must be 60 lbs!) against my arm repeatedly. Strange form of teenage animal affection. Each time my mind says, “Get on with it Annika, stop having a pity party…blah blah blah..”, I then do a body scan and realize that my body has taken a big big toll and that it literally feels like someone picked it up, slammed it on the hard concrete over and over and then started kicking it. For those of us unable to leave our bodies and thus, embodied and righteously grounded (as I often talk about in Jungshin),  loss is certainly registered in the cellular tissue, running its way up and down the blood veins while the black and blue responses to being completely out of control (I tried to fight death and I lost), feel to me like dis-ease. I am searching my health inventory, ..” is my gut infected? Do I have a cold?” Etc. Etc. Nothing registers. My body has caught the virus disguised as death. The virus itself is fighting to heal the body and heart, Ha! Another organ and muscle I often discuss in Jungshin..how can this big red muscle/organ hurt so much? How is that possible for an organ to register that type of pain? Of course, I know from my work with Byron Katie, all stress and pain come from a thought but here it is, my own lesson’s kicking me in the head with the strength of unforgiving humility: I am not evolved enough, yet, to question my mind because an organ isn’t ready.  Hard to admit I cannot take my own medicine yet. It must all be about the way of the SWORD and I’m sure this is what Elephant’s Cry.

Death, be not Proud:

Death be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for, thou art not soe,
For, those, whom thou thinks, thou dost overthrow,
Die not, Poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,
Rest of their bones, and souls deliveries.
Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poyson, ware, and sickness dwell,
And poppies, or charms can make us sleep as well,
And better then thy stroke; why swells thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die.

Move for Your Health with Jungshin Fitness.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKvmox2Rrcym5_nG-_sDxRQ

Jungshin Fitness guides participants through the foundational programming which supports health inspired movements including the physiology and anatomy of Jungshin Fitness ® exercises and how to implement them into PT, Small Group, and Group Ex formats.

Our purpose in bringing Jungshin Fitness to movement specialists, students, and health care practitioners a like is to make the very necessary 21st century mind/body connection in movement and in how to integrate this our lives. Jungshin Fitness is designed to, a) bring acute mindfulness to each movement, 2) work the body from the inside out (we address the primary organs and glands which keep the body alive), 3) create a way of living beyond movement (how do we relate to our surroundings, how do we manage stressors, and how can the concept Jungshin (Focused Mind) assist in every walk of life, 4) use a tactile tool to assist balance, nervous system, and mindfulness.

Objectives

  • Learn how to apply the basic 8 stance/8 strike rule across three dimensions, four directions developing a relationship to gravity and what this means in terms posture, digestion, and mental health.
  • Learn how to work one-on-one and in-group format with Long and Short Swords in order to develop an appropriate exercise program that suits your clients.
  • Understand the physiology and anatomy that form the relationship between the 8 foundational mind/body principles for health.
  • Practice the core ground exercises to understand how each one has a physiological benefit and functional purpose
  • Understand and apply concepts of KI (Electromagnetism on a cellular level) and how these resonate with the ability to achieve PEAK PERFORMANCE for you and your client(s)

Description

Using custom weighted wooden swords; Jungshin Fitness will take your body and mind through a stimulating, cutting-edge workout using its longer levers. During this full-day session you will enter into the depths of the benefits of eastern movements, how to achieve maximum health through movement, and why Jungshin and its simple 8 stances and 8 strikes will get you to the look and feel you desire on the inside as well as outside. Drawing upon ancient eastern modalities of health and fitness, Jungshin SLICE IT UP gets into the heart of what keeps us alive through the workout, our organs, while modeling how to attain look and feel you desire. The physiological benefits are integrated into the non-stop workout such that the attendee will reap the benefits as the sweat drips and the swords slice. The workout stimulates both the endocrine system and the metabolism while being one of the toughest yet accessible workouts for all ages. It’s a life-changing workout.

History

As a species we did not always MOVE for health nor because we cared about how we “looked.” And while in ancient India and China there were many links to how one moves and both organ and mental health, it wasn’t until the 19thth century that modern-day population began to equate movement with health and intelligence

President Jefferson says in the 1800’s: “no less than two hours a day (despite the weather) should be devoted to fitness. If the body feeble the mind will not be strong”.

And yet here we are in the 21st century with more age-related, health related, and stress-related dis-eases. Part of our the human dilemma is that we are the only species that has the ability to use the mind to understand the mind yet we are also advancing in technology so rapidly that we move away from ground and center and mindfulness often and increase stress to every organ and every gland that keeps us alive. Jungshin is a program that is designed to help bridge the gap between the pace of evolution and the health of the body. One only needs 10-minutes/day to do a physiological mind/body reset. We show you how through Jungshin Fitness.

The Get Together Conference is just around the corner…

Jungshin Fitness is an exercise and mind-body program drawing upon ancient Eastern movement techniques and modern conditioning trends. The movements are choreographed using a wooden practice sword. The sword provides a necessary tactile tool, a point of focus, and a way for the client/members to accentuate their relationship to gravity thus gaining flexibility through strength and conditioning. There is a focus on the endocrine system and health stimulated by appropriate movement exercises.

Objectives:

Jungshin draws upon ancient eastern modalities of fitness such as Ki energy (AKA, electromagnetism),mental focus, and explosive power, while incorporating modern day movements along fascial lines, and plyometrics. Participants will learn how to both access and teach

Participants will comprehend how to connect necessary concepts of physics with movement and in particular how gravity acts upon the body’s tissue and fascial system and what this means in terms of aging and overall health and how a sword gets the lift and hydration needed for a healthy body.

Participants will leave understanding the effects of adrenal fatigue and how serious a syndromes this is for many of our clients and students and will have tool bag of movements that specifically address the adrenals in healthy ways.
